The latest from Soho’s creative melting pot.

Whoever walks through Soho will undoubtedly notice its contagious energy that awakens the desire to engage with its rich culture and heritage. You can almost hear the faint sounds of trumpets and saxophones when strolling through the narrow alleys lined with historic jazz venues.

It is thus no surprise that Soho has nourished generations of jazz musicians and inspired the creation of Soho Live Jazz Week six years ago. The festival is a celebration of live music, the village’s jazz scene and its ever-evolving community.

Soho Live Jazz Week 2023 boasts a line-up of fourty shows across nine legendary music and art spaces that all capture Soho’s vibrant and unique energy. It embodies the village's essence of creativity and artistic innovation while nurturing the growth of fresh artists and feeding the spirit of jazz.

Both established and emerging jazz artists will be featured, including Jo Harrop, Ray Gelato, John Williams, Wonky Logic and the London Django Collective honouring the old whilst cultivating the new. Their performances at venues like Pizza Express Jazz Club, Martinez Cocktail Lounge, The Windmill Theatre Soho and The Piano Bar Soho provide a fantastic opportunity to witness the current jazz revival.

To support this new era of jazz, all proceeds from the festival and any merch sales go towards the Soho Live Artist Development fund, providing grants to artists and helping them promote, produce, and advance gigging live artists to the next stage of their career.  Soho Live Jazz Week illuminates the work of artists who reflect the energy of Soho and are actively revitalising both jazz and the village.

Soho Live Jazz Week initially started out as street parties put on annually in Carlisle Street in front of the Piano Bar Soho and has since evolved into a 4-day celebration of Soho’s rich jazz past and future and the musicians who keep its energy alive.

Come join us in continuing our mission to cultivate and nourish some of the world’s most talented musicians that perform nightly all year long in the capital's creative square mile. Scroll down to explore some of the recent history of Soho Live Jazz Week.
